I know in my state (Alabama) they had a special hunting period to thin out the deer population in a state park and were going to donate all of the meat to local shelters. What they found was that most of the deer (due to over-population) were so malnourished the meat couldn't be donating. It was very sad. So overpopulation is definitely a good point you might cover.
how about if a person needs to legitimately hunt for food for his family, especially in these trying times. it should not be unlawful to kill what one needs to eat.
You can get a permit around here to kill deer out of season if they are a nuisance, like if one is constantly eating your crops, or flowers.
