What do I need for coyote hunting?

I was wondering what all i would need to coyote hunting.

and everyone thats going to say coyote hunting is wrong don't even bother answering this question because they've already gotten into my grandmothers chicken coop and killed her rabbits to.What do I need for coyote hunting?
First rule is a predator coming into a call is often sneaky he will use wind and cover to stalk in to the sound. They are quite challenging and are on full alert to any movement of the hunter because they are looking for whats dying

A 243 is great . I like electronic call a rabbit in distress call is great for them then use a mouse squeaker to draw them in real close. A fawn in distress call will draw them in from a long ways off.

The key thing that has helped me kill them is a battery powered decoy . It gets the coyotes attention off of you and they will run right up to a decoy to eat it.

here is the kind I use http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa鈥?/a>

Coyotes often circle down wind so they smell their way in to a caller . Often I hunt with a buddy so we can see all directions . The downwind hunter can often use a shotgun with heavy shot . A shotgun works great for coyotes that come running in to a call .

I like to call for atleast 30 to 45 minutes in one spot . If I am also looking for bobcats call for an hour. Bobcats take up to an hour to come in . Coyotes often take that long. When you are done calling sit there another 5 to 10 minutes . Often a predator will be there you never saw and you will see them sneaking off.

Be very camoed gloves facemask etc. And very still they are often more wary than deer . The decoy will give them something to focus on and often draws them out of cover. Stay scent free also.

My best hunting days are windfree so the call sound will carry well and early morning and late evening are great times. When you get in an area sit there 10 to 15 minutes before calling . Take time to look over the area first. That way when one comes in slow you will notice it easier. Often I will just see them sitting watching me and not coming right into the call.

Good HuntingWhat do I need for coyote hunting?
Camo

A good blind

Rifle (243 is a great yote killer)

Calles (Weather it is electronic or a mouth call)

and yotes.

Mouth calls are cheap but you have to learn how to use them. Electronic calls range from $100 to $700. The electronic call that all others are judge by are Fox Pros but they range from $300 to $700.

I would get a Electronic call like this one http://www.king-cart.com/cgi-bin/cart.cg鈥?/a> it is a ok call and it is not that spendy when you look at other electronic calls out there. I seen a review in one mag and this was ranked the best caller in this price range.

the only way yote hunting is wrong is if you do not get one. Run to your local book store (Borders) and pick up this months edition of Predator Extream magazine.
In PA u can

bait

call

no orange

365 days a year

no license (unless deer, bear, elk, or spring gobbler season then you need to have a license for the animal you are hunting like unless deer, bear, elk, or spring gobbler.)

Look at you states hunting and trapping magazine
I think that your Plan with the electric call and your .243 is good! I personally go out and do it at night. (Night of course is when they are most active) Good luck!! I know how frustrating it can be when they get to your animals! Best of luck to ya!
1. License to shoot them.

2. Varmint rifle

3. Electronic distress calls(if legal where you are)

4. Rotting carcass of assorted dead critter for bait(once again if legal)

5. The wind in your face, never behind you.

6. Some luck

7. Coyotes

Thats all you need.
get yourself a johnny stewert electrical call that is what I use

sounds like u have the right rifle I would suggest a good comfy folding chair and an ameristep doghouse blind. Be as comfy as you can that way you can stay long if needed. I like the ideas of baiting and if you can get a carcass of an animal man thats gold. We have been baiting with the carcasses of our ducks that we have cleaned. Once you get one i bet they leave your granny's stock alone for a while but hope u get um all. good luck
a good gun: .270, 30-6, 7mm, 6mm... but anyway u want a good scope a spotlight a cyote call... ur gun haha... camo haha... and a nice spot to sit... and if there is a dead animal nearby then set up by that and wait...

HAPPY HUNTING
find some hunting buddies that have killed deer and get the gut pile or hunt over the gut pile, a bale blind covered with a white sheet if snow is prevelant works good . get a mouth caller or of its allowed an electronic call if you can afford one...sit back and wait. There are various wounded rabbit decoys available if not just shoot one and use the wounded rabbit call...coyotes will come runnin be ready. we also chase em in pick ups shooting 22s into small draws and waiting for them to come out then blast em woth buckshot. I use a tikka t3 tactical in 308 for long distance shots but any rifle will work
