thanks! Why is Hunting a part of the past time especially to those high officials in the government a long time ago?
In England, back in the day, hunting was reserved for nobility and landowners. The ability to hunt was a status symbol - like driving a Hummer today (only not as dumb). Why is Hunting a part of the past time especially to those high officials in the government a long time ago?
If I remember right, High officials, or Mucky Mucky's as I call them, I guess before we had beautiful golf courses for them to go play on, and there was still a lot of game running around our country, especially on their estates - they would go out and shoot deer and fowl for recreation and something to talk about amongst themselves!! It was kind of a status symbol to kill something and have it stuffed, and hung on the walls of their study's! Teddy Roosevelt killed a bear and had it stuffed! Nowadays, it's the best golf courses or extracuricular activities that the Mucky Mucky's are attracted to! LOL! So what have they got to hang on their walls now!? Crossed Golf clubs and a chalk board indicating how many girls they scored with!?
the primary function of the hunting ' party' a long time ago was for sport and the meat.but it still serves its most important function. its most important job is the opportunity of two or more people to talk privately/personally. the decisions that the world turn on are usually made between two men who have had (via the hunt)the time and opportunity to see each other as equals without the bluff and bluster of politics or undersecretaries telling them what they are supposed to say. tmm
The Framers of the Constitution hunted for their food cause that was the only way to get it on the dinner table. If you want to do research look into the date of incorporation of say Dominicks, Jewel, Piggly Wiggly etc....

Good luck
Depends on how long ago you're talking about, cause in colonial days hunting was a good way to insure survival. The ';pastime'; of it usually has something to do with male bonding.
