Hunting with LEAD pellets and eating the animal?

Well i hunt rabbit and turkeys is it ok to eat it even whe n i shoot a lead pellet in it?Hunting with LEAD pellets and eating the animal?
People have been doing it for centuries without any ill effects. Basically, unless you're actually eating the pellets, the amount of lead you'd ingest from wild game shot with lead ammunition is minimal and not enough to do harm. At least that's what the studies on lead fragments in wild game have found. The media coverage of this issue has been... a bit one sided shall we say...

When you're butchering the animal just remove the pellet and any bloodshot meat along the pellet's path. Most of the lead fragments that cause problems are from high-velocity rifle rounds, not low velocity pellets, so odds are if you trim along the bullet's path you'll remove any lead fragments. Or better yet, limit yourself to head-shots and you'll avoid the issue entirely since you won't be eating the heads. ;)Hunting with LEAD pellets and eating the animal?
Lead is usually only harmful with prolonged exposure. It is also hazardous to children but still requires repeated exposure to be harmful. Thats why kids go to the hospital for eating paint chips, theyv'e been doing it for awhile.

Most pellets would fall out during cleaning and cooking. You would also suspect it before swallowing. And besides people hunt with lead shot all the time with no ill effects. You can buy steel shot but its at least double if not triple the cost of lead.
absolutely, i used to eat rabbits and ducks my grandad had shot with his old 12ga, he swore he'd picked them all out, but we kept a bowl on the table for spitting the stray ones into.

and it durnt doo me no harm.
Yes its fine cause the lead pellets will be picked out from cleaning or fall out from cooking or you can spit them out when chewing. Even if you swallow them they will come out the other end and not stay in your body.
Yes. So long as you pick the pellets out before you eat it then you will be fine.
Unless you're eating a pound of the stuff I'd say the only thing they're going to hurt are your teeth if you aren't careful... good luck n happy shooting!
