Where do people go hunting (legally) if they don't own property?

Do they go to forest preserves? Is that legal?

Where do people hunt?

Always been curious.

ThanksWhere do people go hunting (legally) if they don't own property?
In the United States the rules that determine where someone can and can not hunt vary from state to state. But, there are some universal fundamentals.

Private land owned by someone other than the hunter can be hunted with permission of the owner.

State owned land such as that which is managed by different wild life management agencies and state parks are generally open to hunting.

There are a number of other places people hunt including game preserves and even land owned by some corporations.

Most hunters don't have enough property of their own to hunt their backyards and will scout around to find other places locally.

Hope all is well.Where do people go hunting (legally) if they don't own property?
hunting isn't allowed on a lot of national / state preserves. it may not be allowed on any of them, I can't say for sure.

Some people joing hunting clubs and hunt on land owned by the clubs. Some go hunting on a friend's land.
They get permission from other people to hunt on their land or permits to hunt on foresty preservations if that is an option.
They hunt on private property belonging to people who have given you permission to hunt on it. Another choice is to hunt public land where hunting is allowed. Check sporting goods stores in the area and find where public hunting is allowed.
In Florida, you can hunt on wildlife management areas. They normally are free to hunt on and you can usually camp there too! They are open to the public for like hiking and horseback riding....I love them thats where I hunt!
I cant answer for every state in the U.S,, but in Missouri the Missouri Department of Conservation owns a very large amount of land. Many deer hunters (and other small game hunters) who do not have access to private land hunt on public conservation areas maintained by the MDC. All of these areas are strictly managed for deer populations and other small game. The MDC is actually a very good wildlife management tool for the state of Missouri. They take hunter surveys every year to use in adjusting the rules and regulations for hunting in order to keep a large and healthy stock of deer and other game that may be pursued in Missouri.
W.M.A's down here, its goverment owned land thats ment for hunting and fishing, and some times you can even camp at one.

w.m.a stands for ';wildlife management area';
State land.....

State land is like K-Mart. You really dont want to be around the people who frequent it.
