North Carolina is a great deer hunting state. Get you a hunting pamphlet that is available from the wildlife dept. - it will list the seasons, regulations and will list all the public hunting management areas the state manages.It would be a good idea to ask them the hunter success rates of any of the areas close to you. This will give you an idea of a good place to start looking for a spot to hunt. holly shelter is known for there hunting of all types, but its close to the coast and its quite a drive from the mountains if your like me.
